To achieve the Sports Science & Sports Medicine objectives the strategies are:
- National delivery of fully integrated world leading Sports Science and Sports Medicine programs.
- Utilise the Sports Science coordinator to facilitate the performance management of medal capable Senior A athletes.
- Implement focused research/innovation capable of providing a performance gain at the London Olympic and/or Paralympic Games, utilizing the best sports science and sports medicine resources across Australia.
- Retention of current medal capable Senior A athletes through to the 2012 Olympic Games.
- Individual performance management of the medal capable Senior A athletes across all four years of the Olympic cycle.
- Targeting and maximising the development of additional emerging athletes capable of medal winning performances at the London Olympic Games.
- Provide effective mechanisms to ensure there is appropriate athlete responsibility for performance.
Preferred providers
The NRCE encourages athletes and theior coaches to use medical practitioners who work regularly with high performace rowers. A list of those medical staff working within the NRCE medical network is below.
