Elite Adaptive

The primary objective of the NRCE is to achieve sustainable medal winning performances by Australian athletes at Olympic and Paralympic Games consistent with the Rowing Australia High Performance Plan as determined by the RA Board. The HP Adaptive Program is managed within the NRCE to encourage full integration at all levels of Australian rowing.

The National Elite Adaptive aim is to achieve one Gold medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. However to do this, there needs to be other crews 'knocking on the door' to make this a reality on the day. Elite adaptive athletes undergo essentially the same regime of training, testing, selection and touring as Senior A athletes.

Note — The Event Requirements and Nomination Form must be read in conjunction with the National Selection Policy.

Event Requirements

Each Event Requirements will include information and material considered relevant by RA to the particular Event, and will generally include the time, date and manner for Participants to nominate for consideration under the Selection Policy to the National Team for the Event. Any special considerations will also be detailed in the Requirements.

Each Event Requirements shall form part of the Selection Policy and shall bind each Athlete and coach that nominates for consideration for selection to the National Team for the Event. Rowing Australia may issue the Event Requirements wholly or partially by way of updates or bulletins.

Nomination Form

All Participants wishing to be considered for selection must complete and sign or accept the terms of the Nomination Form.

Paralympic Preparation Program

Rowing Australia has entered into an agreement with the Australian Paralympic Committee to establish and develop a Paralympic Preparation Program (PPP). RA’s PPP is managed through the NRCE and integrates Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) talent search days with the establishment of structured programs and selection requirements to optimize Australia’s opportunity to win medals at the Paralympic Games.

Athletes in RA’s PPP and Monitored Athlete Squads are listed here.
